Once I was able to calm Mariah down, I let her sleep in the guest room. Before she went to sleep, I asked her where Cedric was, which she replied with Ophelia. I asked for her number to call her to bring him by the condo. I missed him and didn’t mind hanging out with him. Once she dropped him off, I ordered a pizza and the two of us were playing games on my Xbox One. As we were in the middle of playing his favorite game, the doorbell rang. I wasn’t expecting anyone, so I wasn’t going to answer the door but the person was repeatedly ringing the doorbell, which had me irritated.

“Who is that?” Cedric asked.

“I have no idea,” I said as I got up and went to the door. I opened it and glanced at Dominique who had a bag in her hand.

“Hey. I didn’t know if you ate yet so I brought over some food,” she slowly said. She looked over and noticed Cedric on the couch, which I could tell had her disappointed.

“That’s nice of you, Dom, but I’m kind of busy.”

“Babysitting the child of the woman who conned you? What is going on, Zack?”

“Sorry I slept so long.”

I turned around to see Mariah coming in the living room. She kissed Cedric, not knowing that I was at the door with Dominique. She finally looked over and saw us, which had her a little embarrassed.

“Hi Dominique.”

“What the hell is she doing here? I thought you said you weren’t going to speak to her again.”

“It’s complicated.”

“How complicated can it be? She lied and manipulated you. Are you seriously thinking about getting back with her?”

“Let’s not talk about this right now.”

“I think right now is the perfect time. So you don’t want to be with me, but you’d rather be with someone like her?”

“Dominique, I really don’t want to cause any trouble.”

“Oh really. Stop with the innocent routine because you’re far from it. In fact, who is on your agenda next to lie and manipulate? Zack’s dad? Maybe Marc? Hell, you probably fucked majority of the Trojans now since you love to lay on your back for money.”

“That’s enough, Dominique! You don’t have a right to judge anyone after the shit you have caused. You lied, cheated, and fucking gave me an STD. Now, who’s the fucking whore now?”

She stared at me with wide eyes, not believing how I just talked to her. I wasn’t trying to be that upset with her, especially since Cedric was close by, but she shouldn’t have been throwing stones at a glass house since she was in the same position as Mariah.

I looked behind me to make sure Cedric wasn’t in the room. Sure enough, him and Mariah were gone.

“I can’t believe you talked to me like that. I thought you changed how you felt about me, especially since you came to the clinic.”

“I did that because I didn’t want you to have an abortion. I told you countless times that what we had is over.
